Pour, drip, and splash your way to wild, expressive landscapes.
The Experience
An experiential watercolor workshop brand founded by painter and illustrator Jeff Bruzdzinski (BFA Illustration, Syracuse University), based in Santiago de Compostela.
The brand pairs live, expressive watercolor painting with relaxed, hands-on art-making and conversational English, creating a calm and memorable guest experience rooted in Galician light, culture, and pace.
Mission
Creating calm watercolor experiences that help people slow down, notice their surroundings, and connect with each other. Bringing art into boutique hotels, and private spaces in a way that feels personal, welcoming, and genuinely meaningful.
Vision
To make watercolor a shared moment of presence. A quiet, creative pause woven into the rhythm of travel, hospitality, and everyday life.

From Syracuse to Santiago
Starting Over, On Purpose
"When I was younger I painted for fun. Then, I learned to paint in a classroom at Syracuse University, then spent twenty-five years doing something else entirely. I quit that job to find out what I'd make here in Galicia. I'm still finding out."

Jeff Bruzdzinski
Santiago‑based, New York‑born artist

Jeff Bruzdzinski is an American illustrator, painter, and visual communicator living in Brion, Spain with over 30+ year of experience. His work blends watercolor, and mixed media into layered, emotional compositions that provoke curiosity and reward slow looking.
Alongside his studio practice, Jeff, founder of Color & Conversations creates immersive art experiences for locals, travelers and boutique venues across Galicia that bring together creative exploration, conversation and cultural connection.
My Creative Philosophy: Artwork that makes you look twice.
I push experimental techniques into unfamiliar territory, letting chance, layered gesture and deliberate mark‑making collide. Some pieces begin as delicate washes that whisper, while others emerge as bold, saturated fields. Across the paper, I pursue one aim: to translate emotion into form and color so an idea becomes something you feel in your whole body.
My process is investigative and responsive. I test pigments, layer fragments of memory, and adjust color until the composition feels resolved. The images become part map, part experiment, and narratives shaped by light, shadow, and the in‑between.
I want my work to provoke questions rather than provide answers. I want viwers to double take, a long look, and, finally, a personal conversation between viewer and piece. My hope is the same for learners, that the work nudges you to see, to feel, and to risk looking twice.
Teaching Style
I teach approachable and experimental techniques that help beginners and returning painters create expressive, travel‑ready paintings. I design experiences that highlight landscapes while keeping logistics simple for guests and hosts.
I make marks with force and care, pouring, dripping and splashing watercolor across the page to meet the energy of a place. I guide the flow by tilting and gently moving the board so washes run, collide and settle into unexpected textures. The work becomes a negotiation between color and stroke, space and form, with blooms and splatters welcomed as natural traces of irregularity. Each piece records a location felt and translated, shaped to evoke a deep sense of place.
"Stop overthinking. Embrace chance. Make landscapes that look and feel like you, raw, atmospheric, and alive."

What is Color & Conversations
Color & Conversations is a curated art experience designed for boutique hotels, cafés, cultural spaces, retreats, and private events. Most sessions last 90-180 minutes, though formats can be adapted for shorter events, half‑day programs, or full‑day retreats depending on the venue and goals.
What does the venue need to provide?
Very little.
All art materials and facilitation are provided. Venues typically only need to offer:
- A suitable space (tables and chairs)
- Basic access to water
- Optional projection or wall space
The experience is designed to integrate smoothly into existing operations inside or outdoors.
How many guests can participate?
Group size depends on the format and space, but most group sessions work well with 3–10 participants. 1-on-1 and couples available. Larger groups of 20+ people can be accommodated with advance planning. See venues for more.
How is pricing structured?
Depending on format, pricing is offered as a flat-fee session or price per person designed to be venue‑friendly and easy to plan. For reference, most group experiences typically work out to $45-55 per guest, depending on group size and format. One-on-One / Couples Session are a flat fee of $120.
Examples:
- One-on-One / Couples Session | 1–2 guests | (typically 90–120 minutes)| $120 flat (all materials incl.)
- Small Group / Hotel Pop-Up (standard) | 3–10 guests | (typically 90–120 minutes) | $45 per person (3-person minimum)
- Bespoke Private Event | 3–10+ guests | (typically 90–180 minutes) | $55 per person (3-person minimum), extended format for weddings, hen/stag, corporate team-building where socializing is part of the point.

We accept card payments via the booking link and bank transfers for bespoke events. A deposit may be required to secure larger bookings. Payments are processed in USD. Your bank will convert to EUR automatically.
All payments are processed securely in USD through Square. European and international guests can book without any issues, your bank will automatically convert the amount to EUR (or your local currency) at checkout.
Why we use USD?
- Our booking system is based in the United States, and using USD keeps pricing consistent and secure for all guests, local and international.
Why is the 1-on-1 / Couples session $120 instead of the group rate?
The $120 covers a fully private session, just you (or you and a guest) and me, for the full 90–120 minutes. Nothing is shared: not the time, not the materials, not the pace.
In a small group, guests split the cost of one session across 3–10 people. In a 1-on-1, that same block of time, planning, setup, materials, and full attention, is dedicated to just one or two people. You're not paying more for the paint; you're paying for the space to go at your own pace, ask questions freely, and get guidance shaped entirely around you.
If you're deciding between formats: choose 1-on-1 if you want a private, personal experience or are working through something specific. Choose Small Group if you'd rather share the experience (and the cost) with others.
How it works:
- You’ll see the session price listed in USD.
- Your bank or card provider will convert the payment to EUR automatically.
- Most European cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) support international payments.
- Some banks may apply a small foreign transaction fee (usually 1–3%).
I'm a venue host, can I charge guests for the experience?
Yes.
Many venues offer Color & Conversations as a paid guest activity, ticketed event, or premium add‑on. Others include it as part of a package or special program. The format is flexible and can be adapted to your business model.
Is the experience suitable for retreats or wellness programs?
Absolutely.
Color & Conversations integrates naturally into wellness, mindfulness, and learning‑focused retreats. Half‑day and full‑day formats are available and can be tailored to complement your program’s themes.
Who leads the sessions?
All sessions are led by Jeff Bruzdzinski, an artist and facilitator based in Galicia. Jeff brings decades of experience in visual communication, creative direction, and group facilitation, creating experiences that feel thoughtful, generous, and human.
Do guest need to bring anything?
Just bring yourself and wear comfortable clothes. If you prefer, bring a personal apron or a reference photo for a memory landscape session. For Sip & Dip sessions we can coordinate a light drinks package if requested.
Do guests get to keep their artwork? How big are the paintings?
Yes.
Each participant leaves with an artwork they created during the session, a tangible reminder of the experience. Generally, the art is small enough to store flat in your suitcase. In most cases, the art is 10x14 inches (26x36cm) watercolor paper. Optional Add-ons: Premium Upgrade: (+$20/person): premium paper & larger size (16x20in | 40.6 x 50.8cm)
